A long time ago there were two famous warriors who confronted each other in numerous battles. Neither one was better than the other. Since both warriors always wore masks during the battles, they never saw each other's face. After countless battles the older warrior finally prevailed and the younger one was killed. Upon removing his opponents mask, the older warrior discovered that all this time he had been fighting and now killed his one and only long lost son. Suffering tore through the older warrior’s heart like a jagged sword tearing through its victim’s body. The man fell to the ground in grief. He buried his face in hands to hide from the truth he just witnessed. Tears of dread poured from his eyes. To this day the Weeping Buddha is in eternal mourning and sadness crying not only for his own son, but for all the pain and suffering in the world.
