Roman Dodecahedron

This object which has fascinated and mystified many for centuries would make a unique charm.
Over 100 have been found throughout Europe since 1739!
They were casted in bronze, which was a valuable metal between the 2nd to 4th centuries. There is no record or mention of these valuable objects. None have been found with inscriptions and rarely show signs of wear. Ranging in size from 1.4 inches to 4.3 inches.
There are many theories as to their purpose; from testing the skill of a metalsmith, counting, surveying, knitting, religious artifact...the list goes on!
One of my favorite subjects is art history, and the Roman Dodecahedron really intrigues me. I would love to have my very own Roman Dodecahedron!

Sterling silver, about .5 inches. Holes of different sizes.
